1. Here's what you may need for a home emergency kit

Carrying bag, easy to manage size with shoulder straps
Bottled Water
Non-perishable food
First Aid Kit (see below)
Flashlight & extra batteries, light sticks, lantern, NO CANDLES
Matches and lighter
Portable radio & batteries
Change of clothes
Walking shoes, sturdy
Blankets, sleeping bags
Comfort kit
Gloves
Small tool kit
Toiletries & personal hygiene items, soap, toothpaste etc.
Sealable plastic bags & garbage bags
Tarpaulin, tent or alternative for emergency shelter
Leather work gloves
Can opener
Plates and cutlery
Camp stove or other alternatives for cooking
Extra pair glasses
Cash (small denominations)
Rope, string
Paper towels. toilet paper
Books, cards, games, pencils & paper
Aluminum foil, fire starter
Rain gear

3. First Aid Kit
·  1 Nylon satchel labelled FIRST AID
·  1 First aid manual
·  6 Triangular bandages
·  2 Pressure bandages (non-sterile 4-1/2" x 6")
·  6 Abdominal pads (sterile 8" x 10")
·  6 Gauze sponges
·  1 Pkg. gauze sponges (non-sterile 4" x 4") 25 per package
·  2 Stretch roller gauze 4" x 5 yd.
·  1 Pair of super scissors
·  1 Roll of adhesive tape 1" x 5 yd.
·  1 Splinter forceps (stainless steel)
·  1 Bottle of sterile water
·  1 Laerdal pocket mask with head strap & 1 way valve
·  6 Pairs of latex gloves
·  50 Adhesive strips (assorted sizes)
·  2 Pkg. eye pads (sterile)
·  1 Bottle of Savlon antiseptic
